Haunted Walks

I hate being scared, but I love historical ghost walks or "haunted walks". Several U.S. cities have them (Boston, New Orleans) and I went on a great haunted walk in Ottawa when I was there last year. On a haunted walk, a guide takes a group on a walking tour of buildings and places that have haunted ghost stories. It's a great way to see the city you are visiting, as well as hear history about the buildings and people. Next time you are traveling to a major city, check and see if they offer a haunted walk. Really fun! Also, the Bowery Boys ( my favorite podcasters) have several podcasts about haunted and creepy places in NYC. Check them out on iTunes the next time you are there.

Male Athletes

The Order of Hotness: Canadian Hockey Players All Other Hockey Players Lacrosse Players (especially the team I saw last night in the HPER building on campus) Baseball Players (especially Johnny Smoltz, excluding all Yankees) Soccer Players Pick-up Football Players (the hotness of amateur sports) Divers Non-Pro Golfers (the guys I know in my personal life who golf are all kinda hot) And of course, the ultimate cage fighter: Wolverine. Definitely my favorite male athlete. Please note: this list is not based solely on looks (except the divers) and has not been scientifically verified (except by infatuation).

Hall of Fame Part I: Diet Coke

I have very few vices. Diet Coke is always at the top of the list. (Current #2? Ambien. Current #3? Jim/Pam videos on YouTube.) Six things I believe about Diet Coke: 1. From the fountain tastes better than in the can, which tastes better than in the bottle. 2. Best tasting fountain: Holiday Oil on Highland Drive and 39th (SLC), Valero on San Pedro and Basse (San Antonio). 3. The flavored versions lose their fizz too quickly. Weak. And the Cherry tastes like cough syrup. 4. There is no point to Caffeine Free, except that my little niece Meg loves it. An early adopter. 5. Winger's makes an excellent Vanilla Diet Coke. They get the ratio just right. 6. Diet Coke (Coke Light in Mexico) is sweeter everywhere else in the world I've been. And extremely plentiful in Thailand; not so much in Quebec (where Pepsi is the drink of choice). Amount of Diet Coke I can drink before I get caffeine shakes: About 144 oz. Top Four Memorable Diet Coke Experiences: 1. Seth walking me to the bathtroom...
