Silicone Wonders and Cupcake Holders

Image
Silicone is fast becoming one of my all time favorite substances. It makes your boobs look good*, it helps you run really far  , and now it can bake cupcakes! My friend L. sent me these silicone cupcake holders, along with a brownie mix (and a few other treats). They can withstand up to 500F and are reusable, so I'll be able to use them in my little toaster oven. No more expensive disposable tins needed!  What a thoughtful friend. *No, mine aren't silicone, but sometimes I wish they were.

Licking This Guy

Image
Okay, I haven't licked him, but I'm pretty sure I would love it. I think it's the eyes. And the hair. He reminds me of a quotation I once read: "It's unfortunate that women find rash men so appealing, but they do, because deep down every woman knows a man who won't kill for her is useless."  I have a habit of saying I want to lick people. And by "people" I mean "hot men." I don't mean it literally, it just means: "Mmmmm, tasty!" If I describe a guy as "I kinda wanted to lick him," i.e. my co-teacher and neighbor Andrew answering the door shirtless, I mean it as a compliment. (Picture: Actor Robert Pattinson)

Amphipod Micropack

I bought this to carry my chapstick, lube, extra energy gels and car key during the marathon. Instead of hooking it onto my waistband, I clipped inside the center of my sports bra. I thought it was more comfortable near my center of gravity than on my hip. It worked great, I highly recommend it. (The only downside is it soaked up sweat sitting next to my skin, but it's washable.) As far as the marathon, I didn't have any injuries or illness, not even a blister. I wear Brooks shoes and Nike wicking socks and they served me well. I ran in a running skirt, rather than shorts, and I recommend that as well, more comfortable in my opinion. I hit the wall around mile 25 and walked a half a mile, but then picked up and ran the last 1/2 mile. I really wanted to cross the finish line running. I took a 1 minute walking break every mile or so throughout.

Pjur Eros BodyGlide

I picked up a travel-size tube of this silicone lube to carry while running, I use it on my upper thighs and all clothing edge/skin contact places to avoid chafing when going long distances. I noticed how soft my hands were after applying and started using it as hand lotion and on my legs after shaving. Makes your skin feel super-soft and look nice and healthy. It's hypoallergenic and fragrance/dye free, so won't interfere with perfumes or irritate your skin. You can buy this stuff in adult shops, but also on Amazon.com. I highly recommend it in place of lotion. Pjur Eros on amazon.com, $19.95 ($3.95 for travel size)

Lube, Texas Style

Image
Picture taken at the Walgreen's near my apartment in San Antonio: two full shelves of personal lubricants. At a corner Walgreen's. The bottom shelf was lined with them too. Forget Virginia, apparently Texas Is For Lovers (of a certain size). (Walgreen's at San Pedro and Hildebrand. Which kinda explains it, but still a funny sight.)
